- How can I reduce the appearance of cellulite?
Now this is a really great question and while it may be a tricky task, it's definitely not impossible. I think the best way to explain how to reduce the appearance of cellulite, is by explaining what it actually is, what causes it and how you can help to reduce it.

So cellulite is the appearance of dimpled or lumpy flesh which is very frequent among women and can appear on the thighs, buttocks or hips. Now, what generally happens is this bottom layer here, is our fat layer. And this actually where the cellulite appears.

Above this layer, we have the dermis layer. In this layer here, we have a combination of water, elastin, and collagen. And then above this, we have the epidermis, or the skin layer. So what may sometimes happen, if we do not have enough collagen or enough water in our bodies, this layer will reduce and the epidermal layer will move down and you'll begin to see the fat layer underneath, and it will present as cellulite. So what can we do to reduce the appearance of this cellulite when it does come around?

First of all, I would highly recommend increasing your water intake to around three liters of water a day. It may seem like a lot to begin with and for the first day or two you may find yourself constantly running to the bathroom, but rest assured, that will reduce as your body gets used to the new level of water. Increasing your water intake will not only help to keep you hydrated, supporting the area just below the skin here, but will also help with your circulation and will help to flush out toxins that may lead to fat accumulation.

So the second reason I mention that you may be seeing an increase in the appearance of cellulite, is if you are not holding enough collagen in the dermal layer. Now the reason for this can often be due to our monthly cycle or your period, so what will generally happen is throughout your monthly cycle your body holds the endometrial tissue that is the tissue inside your uterus in place with a layer of collagen.

Now as you come towards the end of your cycle just before you have your period your body releases enzymes that will break down collagen all over the body not only in the uterus all over the body, which can reduce the collagen in the dermal layer and increase the appearance of cellulite.

It's really hard to combat this as it is part of your regular cycle but what I can recommend is using a product by ATP Science called Block E3. So when applied to areas, such as the buttocks, hips, and thighs, Block E3 will help to protect the collagen layer beneath the skin, giving your skin a smoother and firmer appearance.

I also recommend if you are using Block E3, dry brushing before use, dry brushing will help to improve circulation and improve the absorption of the Block E3 in the area. You can use Block E3 twice a day. I recommend using it in the morning after a shower and at night after a shower. So that's all the tips I have for you on how to reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Finally, I think that most important thing to mention is that most women do experience this, even if you can't see it in their Instagram photos, it's probably there, so don't feel pressured by this, don't feel pressured to look a certain way, but if it's something that matters to you and it's something that you want to improve I hope this video helps. If you have any questions about what I've spoken about today or any other products on our website please feel welcome to leave a comment in the comment section.
