Don't skip meals!
At one time or another, just about everybody ends up skipping a meal or two. It’s not so unusual, and there can be a number of reasons for it, including lack of time, lack of available food, or lack of appetite. Skipping meals for the purpose of weight loss, however, is never a good idea, but many dieters actually think that it will work. It is much better to adopt an eating plan that is healthier overall and to increase physical activity instead of skipping meals for weight loss.
Lack of Energy
When we skip meals, our blood sugar levels drop, causing that tired and foggy feeling of brain fog, as well as mood swings and irritability. Over time, this unhealthy practice can limit nutrients and force your body to further break down energy stores.
Survival Mode
Skipping meals can send your body into what is known as survival mode, which can make you feel even hungrier and then to overeat, consuming excess calories. Eating healthy meals and snacks during the entire day can keep your body from going into survival mode and therefore aid in fat burning.
Nutrition
Although everybody is different, we all need proper nutrition and healthy meals to get the vitamins and minerals needed by the body each and every day. We all need protein, fat and carbs for our bodies to function properly.
It's fairly easy to come to the conclusion that healthy eating and fat burning go hand-in-hand. So if your goal is to lose weight, remember that regular meals will help you to do that while skipping meals will surely hinder your progress. And, many of these findings are according to research by the National Institute of Health.
