No one loves tummy fat and it is one of the most difficult sources of fats to get rid of.  However, before wanting to get rid of belly fat you have to understand that there are two types of fat found around our stomachs; subcutaneous fat which is the fat under the skin, and visceral fat, the fat around our internal organs.

Having a small layer of fat around your waistline is healthy and helps to protect your organs, however too much visceral fat can trigger a number of health complications such as inflammation, heart conditions and diabetes.

What makes us gain belly fat? Unfortunately, belly fat can be due to a number of reasons, the most common is through the consumption of too many sugary and saturated foods. Another common reason why you may not be losing fat around your waistline is because you suffer from anxieties and stress, then no matter how strict your diet is your body will automatically store fat around your waistline. Luckily, we have a number of suggestions that are effective in helping you reduce belly fat.

Cut Down on Calories

The first and foremost common problem in increased fat around the stomach is from consuming too many calories per day. Foods which are high in saturated fats and refined sugars are a main contributing factor to weight gain. This is because they are fast absorbed into the blood and if when not used as a source of energy, the body will simply store as fat. This means that you need to avoid high saturated and sugary foods, including all the common junk foods in order to reduce the amount of fat your body can store. Eating more calories than you burn off during the day can also be another common factor to weight gain, therefore it is always recommended that when you are trying to reduce body fat, you will need to make sure your energy expenditure is higher than your energy intake.

Stress

Whenever you are stressed, the levels of a hormone known as cortisol will increase. This hormone is commonly known to increase during physical or psychological stress. This disruption in our levels of cortisol can often promote weight gain and increases our insulin levels which in turn can affect hunger cravings. It has also been known that elevated cortisol levels will cause fat depository in the abdominal area. Ways to reduce overall stress and maintain a balance in cortisol levels is by participating in regular exercise. Not only will this help reduce cortisol levels and overall stress, but it will also help burn more calories. Alternatively you can also keep these hormones in balance by  increasing your intake of low glycemic foods such as beans and lentils.

Green Tea

Green tea is a common fat burner which has a number of benefits to aid in weight loss and reduction of belly fat. Most fat burners will contain a form of caffeine that will help boost the body's metabolism, which in result will increase the amount of calories used as energy for the body. When dieting we commonly reduce our calorie intake which can have an effect on our metabolism. Our metabolism needs energy in order to function, however reducing our calorie intake which is our primary source of energy, will slow our systems down and we simply won't have the energy to burn off extra stored fat. Therefore including a green tea fat burner into your daily regime with a healthy diet will help increase your body's metabolism in order to keep burn more calories and burn more stored fat. Green Tea X50 is a great substitute for the regular green tea drinks, as it contain all the beneficial antioxidants and the equivalent of 20 cups of green tea per serve.

Training in the Mornings

We recommend that when training, you alternate between high and low-intensity activities first thing in the morning before breakfast, in order to reduce overall body fat. This is because your body will have burnt off most of the carbohydrates you had consumed the day before, in order to keep your organs functioning while you sleep. Therefore any form of exercise in the morning, your body will most likely use fat in order to burn off as energy.

Eat the Right Diet

Eating a balanced diet is also important in reducing belly fat making sure to incorporate a healthy amount of each macro-nutrients. A common factor in weight gain around the stomach is due to a high intake of sodium and sugary foods. Therefore in order to help reduce bloating and fat around your waistline it is recommended to reduce and control your salt and sugar intake altogether. Note that too much sugar in your diet also raises your body's insulin levels, which can increase the storage of calories into fat cells.

Drink Water

Time and again people who are losing weight are advised to drink plenty of water. If you are also struggling with belly fat, increasing your intake of water will help keep your body functioning properly. Keeping hydrated is important to help boost your metabolism and also rid the body of toxins. Furthermore, drinking a glass of water before meals will also help limit the amount of food you will consume, thus preventing the risks of overeating. If you also get the urge for sugary beverages or food, we recommend you drink a glass of water before reaching for the candy, as these cravings can be a common misconception of our bodies being dehydrated rather than hungry.

Get Enough Sleep

Lack of proper sleep not only tires the body, but also contributes in the release of a hormone known as ghrelin. Ghrelin is a hormone responsible for our cravings. Moreover, a lack of sleep can also affect cortisol levels to spike as well, which can further increase the storing of fat around our waistlines. Making sure to have a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep per night will help release stress and refresh the mind. When tired you are most likely to snack more in order to try and increase your energy levels. If you find that you cannot get the recommended daily hours of sleep, we suggest to take a fat burner that will help your body maintain energy levels throughout the day, and help reduce hunger cravings you may get due to the lack of sleep.

Stop Drinking Alcohol

Alcohol is a common factor that will affect weight gain around the stomach. This is because our bodies will work to burn off the calories from alcohol before the calories we consume through foods. Therefore our bodies will store what it cannot digest and burn off as fat. These fats will accumulate in the abdominal region resulting in the increase in visceral fat, which can cause a number of health complications. By staying away from alcohol you will effectively make sure that your body burns off all calories consumed from food throughout the day, and avoid the risk of extra calories being turned into fat deposits.

Exercise Regularly

We all know that in order to reduce body fat around our stomachs, exercising will be a important factor. Studies show that individuals who engage in moderate cardio daily can burn belly fat by up to 20% more. Cardiovascular exercises such as cycling, swimming and hiking promote weight loss by boosting the metabolism.

If you skip meals your metabolism will slow down and therefore reduce the amount of calories your burn throughout the day. Try and space your meals apart throughout the day, instead of going for three heavy meals, consider six small meals. This will help maintain energy levels and prevent you from snacking or slowing down your metabolism.
