HOW TO GET BACK ON THE WAGON
THE BUILD UP
Okay, so you've decided to make a change again.
It's for the better this time, it's for good this time. And finally you have reached the point in your life where it's do or die. You must make a change not only for yourself, but for your friends, significant other or family.
We feel you.
At Fat Burners Only we are not only supplement experts and customer service superstars, we are human, each with our own vices, good and bad days.
The day has come, It almost feels like judgement day. Even before you have your first meal on your diet plan, you're already telling your co-workers or texting friends professing the terrifying magnitude of task ahead of you and how you can already visualize the deprivation of the days to come.
THE FALL OFF
It's day 3 of your new big lifestyle change and you're feeling pretty damn chuffed about your efforts. You have been craving but you have exercised the will power to brush it off and stick to your meal plan - you are determined.
Later that evening, your best friends call you and ask to have a last minute dinner. So rather than sit around home thinking about food all evening you decide to attend.
You sit down, greet your friends and look over the menu. You tell yourself, "Well no way am I spending money on salad. I have prepared meals of salad at home". But other than salad there's nothing healthy that you like. Your friends tell you to 'treat yourself' so you decide to order the wood-fired pizza and also have a glass of wine, or two.
The next day you wake up feeling regretful. But you lick your wounds and proceed to work with your 3 prepared salad meals - all of which are the exact same meals as the last previous three days.
Morning tea, you take the first bite of your first meal of the day and.... It' super bland. Again there you are wishing that you had put more effort in to make this monstrous task of dieting easier for yourself. Why do you always get lazy when it comes to making your diet food exciting?
Lunchtime follows shortly after, you're still full from your first meal and the thought of your 'diet food' turns your stomach. All you can really think about is how good that pizza tasted. "Oh well, I guess I can just eat this later, I will catch up".
Afternoon tea arrives, your lunchtime meal is still sitting there. Now you have 2 meals to eat and you're frustrated. Both are the same, both are bland and both are staring right at you.
"I can't do eat this", you whisper to yourself. "Perhaps If I get a coffee I can just eat when I get home tonight, I'm tired anyway".
Later that night, after not eating since morning tea, you decide enough is enough. You are going to just eat what you want tonight. "Why must diets always be so demanding anyway? Why must all the food that is good for you be so boring? Why do I do this to myself? I can't take this anymore, maybe I'll try again next Monday".
"Maybe".
SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR FAILURE
Does the above situation sound familiar?
If so, you aren't alone. Truthfully, we couldn't find exact statistics on what percentage of people fail their diet in the first 7 days. However weight loss per year is currently a 61 BILLION dollar industry. That's not just telling us diets don't work, that's telling us there is a fully fledged breakdown in people's ideology of healthy weight loss.
"As you think, so you shall become" - Bruce lee
The above quote couldn't be more true when it comes to changing body composition. Before the challenge, before the nutritious food, before the exercise regime and even before the supplementsmust come a healthy attitude.
Now let us tell you a secret..
'Diets' don't work.
Most of us know 'diet' as 'the temporary and highly restrictive, no fun program that we are going to struggle through until we reach our goal'. The question is, after this quick fix approach, what happens next? How do we maintain our results? How to stop ourselves from rebounding back to where we started or worse?
MAKE IT A LIFESTYLE, BURN THE WAGON!
In order to create a real lasting change, we have to realize there is no wagon. Successful fat loss is always a journey of self awareness, education, consistency and courage. While 'diets' are rodeo bulls that are almost impossible to cling onto.
Balance is key when it comes to your weight loss journey. Rather than trying to turn your life upside down overnight, check out our 10 Beginner's Steps To Fat Loss and start implementing small changes in your day that you know are manageable with a little willpower.
Much like a hike to a top of a mountain, there will be potholes and bumps along the way and you may stumble. But if you fall, remember that you are on a journey to the top. You can travel at your own pace until you regain you vigour, but you must always try to keep moving forward and moving closer towards your goal. You own journey could start with a step as simple as reducing your take-out food intake or cutting out processed foods.
Now you're all set and hopefully ready to get on your way with your all new healthier lifestyle philosophy. Because if we can tell you one thing, it's that when you reach the top of the mountain on your journey having conquered all of the obstacles along the way - every new journey you embark on will only get easier.
Much love,
