FAQ: When should I take my Fat Burner?

Finding the right fat burner for your body and lifestyle, is a great first step on the journey toward your fat loss goals. However to maximise the effectiveness of your supplements it’s also important to know when to take them to best optimize your results. Fat burners, when taken at the right time in conjunction with a balanced, nutrient dense diet and regular exercise will turn your body into a powerful fat burning machine, fast tracking you towards your fat loss success.

If you want a more in depth explanation of how to take your supplements (not just fat Burners) to acheive the best weight loss result we highly recommend watching Paul's Easy Tutorial on Smart Supplementation for Fat Loss

Begin the day with your stimulant Fat Burner:

Upon waking up in the morning take your thermogenic fat burner at least 30-40 minutes before breakfast. The body’s metabolism is at its slowest first thing in the morning as it slows down whilst you sleep. Therefore, by taking a fat burner first thing upon waking, you are helping to kick start your metabolism and fat burning process for the day, as well as have better control over your appetite and eating habits for the day. Thermogenic fat burners are any form of supplement which contain caffeine, raspberry ketones, green coffee bean extract and/or green tea extract.

Several popular medium strength thermogenic fat burners available are EHP Labs Oxyshred, Optiburn by Platinum Labs, and BSc Hydroxyburn Shred. If you have a high caffeine tolerence you may need to opt for a stronger thermogenic product with a higher level of caffeine/stimlants, products such as BPM Labs Annihilate, or Albutarex V2 by Mutated Nation will suit those with a medium - high tolerance for caffeine.

Take a second scoop (if required) pre training:

If you are not one to exercise in the mornings, it is still best to take your fat burner first thing in the morning to get your metabolism cranking. You can take a second (full or half) dose just before training if you find you require the extra energy. Taking a fat burner before working out will help give you more energy to work out harder and push yourself further, giving you a greater overall calorie burn for your session and during the day.

Depending on your Goal (Weight Loss vs. Fat Loss) add ALCAR & CLA:

If your primary goal is to not just lose weight but specifically reduce body fat, and attain a healthy, fit and toned physique combining Acetyl L-Carnitine and CLA with any fat burner is a great way to activate the body's ability to break down and burn fat as it's primary fuel source.

Acetyl Carntine (ALCAR) is best taken during periods of high activity (ie. when you are burning the highest amount of calories) such as when you take your fat burner, or when you are performing physical activity. ALCAR will bind to fat molecules allowing your cell’s mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell) to recognize fat as a viable form of fuel.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a unique fatty acid clinically shown to reduce adipose tissue or stubborn hard to move fat. A clinically dosed supplement containing a high concentration of CLA will release fat burning enzymes that will help to break down stubborn fat on the midsection and thighs. CLA is a natural, non-stimulant based fat burner that is perfect to stack with your thermogenic fat burner (such as Oxyshred) and ALCAR.

These two fat burning supplements with your thermogenic fat burner will work perfectly to mobilize stubborn fat (CLA) into the bloodstream, where ALCAR can bind to it and transport it to the cells mitochondria for oxidisation (burning) through energy output (Oxyshred + Exercise)

In Summary, the best time to take your Fat Burner for optimal results;

  1. Take your fat burners first thing when you wake up in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. Also, be sure to take them just before exercise
  3. Finally, check to see if your fat burner contains Acetyl L-Carnitine and CLA to help target stored body fat as an energy source.
